A new Cuba

El desfile de Chanel en el Paseo del Prado. 

Cuba es un paraíso encapsulado en el Mar Caribe que parece abrirse un poco más con el histórico apretón de manos entre Raúl Castro y Barack Obama. Parece que todos se han propuesto redescubrirla esta temporada, relatar un mundo antiguo que desaparece y uno nuevo que bulle a ritmo de salsa, arte y surrealismo.

                                 

Desde que Fidel Castro tomo el poder en 1959, La Habana comienza a ser redescubierta por los grandes personajes y por las casas de moda. Unos viajan a la gran ciudad que se define por sus edificios en ruinas. El Neoclásico, el Art Noveau, el Dèco y el Modernismo que se mezclan en el exótico pastiche de “una ciudad en el trópico”.

La Habana es un hervidero creativo donde surgen estudios de artistas en cualquier sitio (Estudio Arsenal o El Núkleo). Arlés del Río es uno de esos nombres cotizados que los norteamericanos buscan.

         También tiene una narrativa especial, según Leonardo Padura,Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Letras de 2015 y creador del personaje detective Mario Conde, su manera de reflejar la realidad cubana.  Pero la literatura cubana comienza en los años 30 y 40 del siglo XX con “El siglo de las luces” de Alejo Carpentier. Ya en los años 60 se crea el lenguaje habanero literario, con “Paradiso”, de Lezama Lima y con “Tres tristes tigres” de Guillermo Cabrera Infante.

Pero sería El Ballet Nacional de Cuba, considerado uno de los mejores del mundo gracias al trabajo de su directora, Alicia Alonso. Ella representa la sensualidad y la elegancia que caracteriza a la danza cubana.

         







  Así,  Cuba esta temporada esta presente en la moda. Stella McCartney hacía un guiño en la presentación de su colección primavera de 2016 repleta de maracas y cigarros, con rayas, flores, volumen y aún más ritmo latino.

     Tras la visita de Barack Obana, Presidente de EE.UU., aterrizaban en la isla Los Rolling Stones, con un concierto significativo, apoteósico, multitudinario e histórico, con la que se sellaba la apertura cultural de Cuba al mundo.

 Hay que destacar la visita del Papa Francisco (también la visitaron Juan Pablo II y Benedicto XVI).

Por último, Chanel llegaba a Cuba con su colección Resort en 2017.

       Los invitados eran trasladados en antiguos coches coloridos que los transportaban al Paseo del Prado, una de las calles centrales de la ciudad que divide la nueva y la vieja Cuba.
  

Y con el tiempo justo paraban en La Bodeguita del Medio (el lugar favorito de Hemingway). 

          El desfile de la maison ha revolucionado al pueblo cubano, conviertiéndolo en el mejor escenario para su desfile. 

Podemos decir ya que una Nueva Cuba ha nacido, una en la que no haya miedo, que deseamos visitar una y mil veces con la moda de 2016 y 2017…

Cuba, se convierte en una auténtica pasarela. Azúcar!

Cuba is an encapsulated paradise in the Caribbean Sea that seems to open up a bit more with the historic handshake between Raul Castro and Barack Obama. Finally, Chanel came to Cuba with his collection Resort in 2017.
